HONEY BBQ CHICKEN SANDWICH
Applebee's Copycat Recipe

Serves 1

Honey BBQ Sauce:
1 cup ketchup
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup corn syrup
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
2 tablespoons molasses
2 teaspoons dry mustard
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon liquid smoke flavor

Sandwich:
1 boneless skinless chicken breast
1 large round bun, toasted
1 slice cheddar cheese
1 slice of Monterey jack cheese
2 slices cooked bacon
1 slice of tomato
2 slices of onion
shredded lettuce
pickle slices

Make the Barbecue Sauce:  Combine all ingredients in saucepan and simmer for 20 minutes.

Grill the Chicken:  Put chicken on oiled grill plate and bbq for approximately 5 minutes each side (longer if using large breasts), brushing occasionally with the marinade. Add the cheese slices at the end of cooking to let melt.

Build the Sandwich:  Place the chicken on the bottom of the bun and add all of the other sandwich ingredients.
